For the past couple of weeks Caleb (the 16-month-old) and I have been battling it out. And this week, I am thrilled to announce, he said AND signed "please" for his food!!! Yay! He had been signing please and more for awhile, and then all of a sudden a couple of weeks ago he decided he wanted his food, toys, etc. when he wanted them and was throwing tantrums when I didn't give in to his demands.

I know, you can't imagine that this cute little angel would ever throw a tantrum, but alas, he can. :) Although the training process has been intense and emotionally taxing, I am so grateful to have Caleb in our home. What a great opportunity to get to share the Gospel with him and show him Christ's love.
I just read this awesome quote off the Girl Talk blog which I have to post here. It was a blessing to me today.
“Oftentimes parenting can feel like a battle. And the “enemy” is your two-year-old who’s just thrown their dinner on the floor (again); or your fifteen-year-old, who’s just slammed the door on you (again). But still your job is to show them what our Father in heaven is like. Yes, they need to learn to live under authority. But they also need to learn of a God who welcomes His enemies, loves His enemies and gives His life for his enemies.” (
