Waiting

Psalm 34:8-9
"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good;
Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!
Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints!
There is no want to those who fear Him.
The young lions lack and suffer hunger;
But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing."

I've been encouraged by these verses lately. There is a song about verse 9 on one of our Seeds cds, and it keeps playing over and over in my mind . . . those who seek the Lord shall lack no good thing. Awesome truth.

I've been tempted to be impatient and discontent lately. See, my hubby has been actively searching for a full time ministry position for a year now. It was a little over a year ago that he had his first interview for a position that didn't work out. There have been several since then - via email, phone, in person, even a Skype interview. But no ministry position for him yet. For some reason unbeknown to us, God has not allowed the right position to "fall into our laps" yet.

Sometimes it's hard to be patient, but then that Seeds tune pops into my head and God's Word tells me that those who seek Him shall lack no good thing. I'm so thankful and grateful for that truth.

I've been reading through Genesis this month and I've been encouraged/challenged by God's working in and through Abraham and Sarah. They waited for a long time for Isaac. And not always patiently, sometimes taking the situation into their own hands. I'm so thankful for the work God did for them - in His timing. And I'm thankful He's doing the same for us.

Genesis 21:1-2
"And the LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the LORD did for Sarah as He had spoken. For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him."

Notice how much of those 2 verses is about what God did. He always keeps His promises. His Word is always faithful and true. Those who seek the Lord will lack no good thing.
