Attempt #2

This week is our potty training attempt #2, and I am so excited to share that we have success!!

Here is a photo of where we have spent most of our week . . .

My hubby surprised me by taking Monday off work to help with our endeavor. What a blessing that was! I don't know what changed that made Kendrick "ready" to go in the potty, but whatever it was, I am so grateful that it changed. I never imagined I would get so excited to see potty in a potty chair instead of on the floor!

Kyle spread a huge sheet of plastic out on our living room floor, and Kendrick was only allowed to play on the plastic or on the kitchen floor. (We pretended the carpet was hot and he couldn't touch it.) He also got to run around with only his big boy undies on - this was very exciting for him.

Now we are to the point where Kendrick is telling me every time he has to go potty! He even likes doing his yuckies in the potty and then helping Mommy flush them bye-bye. Yes - we are definitely praising the Lord for this one.

On a spiritual note, we are preparing to celebrate EASTER this month! I love Easter, and I love teaching Kendrick, Caleb and Camden all about it. We made paper chains to count down to Easter and soon we're going to make our play-dough mountain and act out the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. I read these verses in Psalm 66 yesterday and was just reminded of how awesome God's work through Jesus Christ truly is. He has done everything for my soul. I want to teach this to my boys and I pray that when they are old enough to understand, they will allow Christ to do the same for them. I want to use the celebration of Easter to declare what God has done for my soul.

Psalm 66:5, 16
"Come and see the works of God;
He is awesome in His doing toward the sons of men.
Come and hear, all you who fear God,
And I will declare what He has done for my soul."
