Deuteronomy 32:46-47
"Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe - all the words of this law. For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life,"
I was reading in Deuteronomy this morning and these verses were a blessing to my heart. It was a reminder to set my heart on God's Word as I go throughout my day. The encouragement in verse 47 is that this is not a futile endeavor because it is my LIFE. Awesome.
On Sunday night after church our small group met and the topic this week was meditating on God's Word. It was great to discuss what this meant and how we could be encouraging and praying for each other to do it throughout the week. I love it that God's Word is living and active. In Hebrews 4 it says that it is able to discern the thoughts and intents of our hearts. What an amazing treasure we have in God's written Word.
On another note, I haven't blogged any since Easter because we have been so busy. God has allowed several different conflicts, circumstances and decisions to come across our path. I'm grateful to know He is sovereignly allowing all of these things and that they are a part of His plan for our lives. I'm also grateful that "A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps." (Prov. 16:9) If you could, pray that God would give us wisdom and discernment as we seek to follow His direction in our lives. We decided that I need to stop babysitting Caleb - this was a huge decision that we didn't take lightly. We're also mulling over decisions on housing and future ministry. Thanks for any prayers/wisdom any of you readers have to share! :)
