Days Like Grass

Psalm 103:13-18
"As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
For the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
And its place remembers it no more.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting
On those who fear Him,
And His righteousness to children's children,
To such as keep His covenant,
And to those who remember His commandments to do them."

Last weekend I had the opportunity to play the piano (along with my mom) for a wedding. The church was decorated so beautifully. They had this gorgeous purple fabric draped from the ceilings. It was canopy-like and it reminded me of how Jewish weddings take place underneath a wedding canopy. That made me think of the wedding that will one day take place between Christ and His Bride, the Church. Imagine how beautiful that will be?

As I was reading this passage in Psalm 103, I was kind of excited that my days here are like grass. I'm so thankful that life here on earth isn't all there is. Everything here is pointing to something greater, Someone greater, over there. Weddings definitely do that.

I also read this amazing article by Mary Kassian about female beauty. You can find it here. I was so encouraged by the way she wrote about the fact that everything here on earth is pointing us to something greater in eternity.

All of our days are like grass, but the mercy of Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Praising God for this today!
